Shanesha Taylor was arrested on March 20th by the Scottsdale Police for leaving her children ages 2 and 6 months in her car while she interviewed for a job. Ms. Taylor was homeless and could not access any child care. Her desperation to provide for herself and her children and her lack of options led her to take drastic measures in search of employment. Ms. Taylor needs support & help rather than incarceration and a criminal record that will surely decrease her chances to provide for her children in the future. We ask that Maricopa County use common-sense and provide support for Ms. Taylor and her children rather than punishment.
Shanesha Taylor is still in jail pending a $9,000 bond.

Help drop the child abuse charges against Shanesha Taylor by signing this petition at change.org. Guys this is an actual issue. We had Hartz collars for my dog and he kept having seizures. one seizure he had on the stairs and fell backwards down the stairs, and he also stop breathing from these seizures. When I found out about Hartz causing this I took it off my dog and he hasn’t had a seizure since. And he used to have one at least every few months. DON’T USE HARTZ.

the goal of the non-binary petition is flawed, this one is much more realistic and has a serious concrete goal that will help people definitely more than harm them (which the nb petition has the possibility of doing)

SIGN AND BOOST

this only needs like 16,000 more signatures. if you care about safety and well-being you will sign it

No, that’s how many signatures it has, it needs about 83,000

dang only a few days left too, get in there tumblr

WARNING - PLEASE READ IF YOU HAVE A PEANUT ALLERGY AND LIKE TO SHMEAR MAKEUP ON YOUR SKIN TO MAKE YOU LOOK AS FLAWLESS AS YOUR PERSONALITY
I am one such an individual, and last night I was super pumped to try this concealer. Out of curiosity I read the ingredients and saw something called arachidyl behenate.
Anything with the root “arachi” such as “arachis oil” is probably peanut related. And, sure enough, I did some research and arachidyl behenate is peanut-derived. Which is the story of how I nearly smushed a deadly food allergen into my skin.
There’s a report here from last year that seems to indicate that some food allergens are neutralized when processed for cosmetics, but I’m not sure that applies for peanuts. And at any rate, they did indicate there was still a risk of a reaction if such proteins weren’t processed properly.
Now, I’m gonna say it outright - I’m not one hundred percent sure that a heavily processed peanut-derived chemical such as arachidyl behenate will cause a reaction. I’ve worn a lot of makeup over the years without checking the ingredients, so I could have easily used a product containing it without knowing. Still, better safe than sorry.
Alternate names for peanut products (anything with the prefix “arachi-” should be considered suspect):
beer nuts, earth nuts, goobers, groundnuts, groundnut oil, hypogaeic acid, katchung oil, mandelonas
A full list can be found here, another cosmetic-specific one here.
Here’s some articles on the subject:

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE DON’T SCROLL PAST THIS.
Scarleteen is a vital queer and trans positive sexual health resource. Their staff do an amazing job of creating really comprehensive and helpful articles on literally every sexual topic you can imagine. They also provide live chats, advice columns, moderated discussion forums, and SMS-based peer support. This site has helped me on countless occasions, and I refer at-risk queer and trans kids to this site every single day.
Scarleteen is invaluable.
And Scarleteen needs your help.
During their annual donation drive this year, the site was only able to raise $1,500. Only fifty people out of Scarleteen’s 350,000 unique monthly visitors contributed to the fundraising drive.
This means that unless Scarleteen sees a stable, sustained, 50% increase in donations, the site will essentially be forced to go dark on May 1. No more new content, no more advice columns, no more forums, no more live chat, no more SMS support.
This is devastating.
If Scarleteen goes dark, millions of young people, vulnerable queer and trans teens among them, will lose access to essential, fundamental sexual health resources. We cannot let this happen.
Please, please, please donate to Scarleteen. Consider making a recurring monthly contribution if you feel that this is within your means. Even $5 or $10 a month will go a long way to helping this very, very deserving organization.
And whether or not you’re able to donate at this time, please signal boost this and spread the word. Scarleteen does incredible, very necessary work, and they need our help.

So, at the beginning of next year my girlfriend and I are planning to move to New York City. More specifically, we want to move to Brooklyn.
So, why am I telling you this, lovely people of Tumblr? It comes down to the fact that I really, really could use some help.
Acting has always been my passion, but when I started to apply to university I became ill and as my health declined my confidence in myself also crashed. I allowed myself to be talked out of my dream.
My senior year I studied abroad in London where I focused on politics as an International Studies major with a hefty loan from the government. I was able to take a second class which focused on Shakespeare and my passion for theater was reignited. My professor told me to return to the stage. I came back to the states and began to audition for every play and sign up for every class. I even started vocal lessons!
It wasn’t really until after the death of my father last year that I took a hard look at my life and what I really wanted. I focused in on what would be best for my future. I decided that I wanted to move to New York City. I talked to my girlfriend about it, and she agreed. We saw this move as a great idea to start our lives together.
Here we run into some complications. My girlfriend currently lives in Georgia while I live in Ohio. We first met face to face through people we knew, but had the sad circumstances of living far apart. I also currently have over 30,000.00 in student loans to pay back and a surgery happening in two weeks. I found out yesterday that this surgery could lead to another surgery - adding to my seemingly endless struggles.
I have started a GoFundMe account in order to ask for help. What I have up as a goal would help both my girlfriend and I move to the city and hire movers once there. Whatever we have left would go to a deposit on an apartment.
Please visit my account here: http://www.gofundme.com/MovingtoNYC
Any amount would help. What you think is small is huge to me. If you can reblog to get the word out it would help a great deal. Thank you so much for your time!

So my close friend started this petition to allow trans people to join the army, because it’s her friend’s dream to do so, but the army apparently sees being transgender as a mental illness. It’s clearly not only discrimination, but misinformation. The petition was literally just created a few seconds ago,  so it only has my signature and a few others on it right now. But we have a good month to see this pick up the pace and get bigger. If you could sign this and pass the post on, it’d be really really helpful. All you really need to do is create an account and sign it, so it’s not too hard at all! If anything, reblog this to signal boost it or something. But if you really can just take like. 5 seconds out of your day, it wouldn’t be that hard to see someone’s dream come true, along with many others. You’ll also be helping to stop some discrimination against trans individuals which is a big plus too. Thanks!
